126 Squires Student Center

Black Cultural Center
In 1984, Black student leaders from the class of 1985 proposed the establishment of the Black Cultural Center to correlate with the uprise in recruitment of black students. BCC opened in 1991 in 126 Squires Student Center.

The BCC is an important component of Virginia Tech’s efforts to create a welcoming and inclusive campus community. It is utilized by the campus community for educational programs, exhibits, meetings, and receptions. The Center includes a small library, TV/VCR, movie screen and stereo. The space also features two computers available for public use.

The Black Cultural Center may be reserved by university groups, but preference will be given to student organizations advised by MPS. Please read all information in the reservations section prior to filling out reservation form.
